Indonesia, Weh 2019

Unser diesjähriger Jahresurlaub verbrachen wir dieses Mal wieder in Indonesien. Mittlerweile sind bereits 3 Jahre vergangen als wir dort das letzte Mal zu Besuch waren. Wir besuchten unsere Familien und Freunde und hatten eine Woche Zeit für uns zum Entspannen geplant. Wir hatten uns entschieden zum nordwestlichsten Punkt Indonesien zu fahren, auf die Insel Weh ganz im Norden Sumatras.

Von Medan sind wir mit dem Flieger nach Banda Aceh geflogen und dann mit der Fähre auf die Insel Weh. Die Insel ist vulkanischer Ursprung und ist sehr grün bewachsen. Die Insel ist sehr tropisch, Temperaturen von 30 – 33°C sind üblich bei einer relativen Luftfeuchtigkeit von über 90%. Die Insel Weh ist auch dafür bekannt, dass man hier gut tauchen und schnorcheln kann. Wir hatten uns eine kleine Hütte direkt am Meer gemietet und sind am Haus Riff sehr oft geschnorchelt sowie ein paar Male tauchen gewesen. Die Unterwasserwelt ist von sehr vielen Fischen geprägt, auch einige schöne Korallenriffe kann man hier entdecken. Einige Korallenbänke wurden durch den Tsunami im Jahre 2004 zerstört, aber an einigen Orten haben sie sich auch gut wieder erholt. Wir hatten leider ein wenig Pech mit der Sicht Unterwasser gehabt, viele Partikel bzw. Plankton waren vorhanden und somit waren die Bilder leider nicht so gut geworden wie ich es mir gehofft hatte. Wie so oft in Indonesien findet man leider Über- als auch Unterwasser Plastikmüll…das ist das einzige was uns dort negativ aufgefallen ist. Ansonsten hatten wir eine schöne Zeit gehabt. Nun wünschen wir euch viel Spaß beim durchstöbern der Bilder. Ach ja, ich habe zum ersten Mal versucht ein Video zusammenzuschneiden, da ist noch Verbesserungspotential drin ;-)

This time we spent our annual holiday again in Indonesia. It has been already 3 years ago when we went back to Indonesia the last time. We visited our families and friends and we also spent one week together to relax. We decided to go to the very North-West point of Indonesia, to the island Weh on the very north point of Sumatra.   

From Medan we flew to Banda Aceh and there we took a ferry to the island Weh. The island was created by volcanic activities and is very green, everywhere forest. The island is very tropical, temperatures from 30 to 33°C is normal and the humidity is more than 90%. The island Weh is famous for its underwater World. We rented a small hut directly at the coast. The house reef is really nice, we went very often snorkelling and also diving. The underwater World is full of fishes and has also some nice coral gardens. Some of the coral gardens were destroyed during the Tsunami in 2004, but luckily most of them has recovered. Unfortunately we had bad luck with the visibility under water, there were many particles and plankton so that the pictures were not really clear. As often when you travel through Indonesia are the plastic trashes above and under the water…that is the only negative thing that upset us. But overall we had a good time. We hope you enjoy watching some of the pictures and for the first time I tried to create a video movie. Well, there is still space for me to improve creating the movies ;-)
